GFC FEMALE PLAYERS IN 2024

At Gordon FC we aim to provide a positive environment for our female community members – players, coaches, managers, referees, care-givers and committee members.

It is fantastic to see an increasing number of girls and women playing, and we are keen to work with our players and community to provide mixed and girls-only teams.

In 2023 we were able to provide free weekly skills-development training to all of our female players. This was possible, thanks to the NSW Government Football Legacy Fund.

GFC’s lovely Female Football coordinators, Che & Robyn

Gordon Football Club is excited and privileged to have received the NFSA Female Football Award - for our efforts in promoting female participation - achieving a 78% increase in 2023. Special thanks to Robyn Martin for championing this cause for a long time with able support from Che, Sally, Sarah and Cathy

Kristi Murphy is the Female Football Development Officer for the NSFA and also works as a XLR8 Development Officer.

Kristi has had 10 years coaching experience and is really committed to building on the NSFA What’s Best For Her Strategy.

Gordon FC is proud to work with Kristi in continuing to build Female Football at GFC.

G6 / G7 Hub

Girls aged 5-7. These sessions introduce the players to the game and consist of skills and small-sided games (4 a side format with no goalkeeper). They are at 9-10am on Sundays at alternating venues - Lindfield Sports Centre & Toolang Oval, St Ives. There is a draw to assist with organisation although the format for this age group is flexible and often based on who is there on the day (ie. if you only have 3 players you play 3 v 3 or borrow from another team). WOMEN’S 45 +

GFC is excited to have it’s first Women’s Over 45 team in 2024!

After a successful summer season in 2023, it’s time to take to a full pitch. Many of us are playing for the first time and we’re just out there to have fun. We are lucky to have some experienced players on the team to guide us along the way.
