Volunteer Spotlight on Robyn

We'd like to spotlight Robyn, our committee member extraordinaire, who was recently recognised during National Volunteer week.

Robyn has been the Treasurer of Gordon Football Club for over 8 years - which is an extraordinary commitment of time, energy, and heart. That alone is worth recognition, but it’s just the beginning of what she brings to GFC.

All 3 of Robyn’s children have played for the club, and now she plays too - bringing her trademark consistency, intelligence, and calm determination to the W045 team, which she also manages. On the field, Robyn reads the game beautifully. She's reliable, fair, and always where she needs to be. She rocks in her midfield position!

Off the field, Robyn is the backbone of GFC. She’s smart, organised, fair-minded, and deeply knowledgeable about how the club and competition run. She keeps the committee on track, ensures our budget stays intact, and reminds us of the important things we often overlook.

Robyn has an incredible grasp of the ins and outs of community football. Her understanding of how everything works—from registrations to referees, scheduling to systems—is second to none. If there were a degree in football admin, she’d pass with flying colours.

In addition to being a diligent Treasurer, Robyn plays a huge role across the club: recruitment, team organisation, coach and manager coordination, systems (think PlayFootball) and processes, event planning, grants, sponsorships, junior girls teams—and this year’s second most frustrating pre-season challenge—grounds and lights. (The light saga nearly broke her, but thankfully she survived.)

Robyn was awarded Senior Club Champion in 2024. Along with Most Improved on the W045 team.

Robyn is calm under pressure, incredibly reliable, and always there for the club. She is the voice of reason and experience. She also has a wicked sense of humor. GFC is incredibly lucky to have her onboard!
