A Team Manager’s role is mostly about making sure everyone knows where to be and when on game day. This includes checking player availability each week, helping top up numbers by borrowing players if needed, and coordinating communication with parents.
We also ask that all Team Managers attend our Coaches and Managers Night which is held in March each year.
On game day, managers support the coach and help get the players organised.
Miniroos Team Managers are also responsible for:
- Finding a parent to act as Game Leader for each match (typically each team provides a Game Leader for one half)
- Submitting the match score in Dribl after each game
- Helping coordinate any optional training led by the parent-coach (often held on Sunday afternoons)
- Setting up a parent roster for subs, fruit/snacks and Game Leading — this is optional but helps share the load across families
Junior Team Managers are also responsible for:
- Submitting match sheets in Dribl prior to each game, ensuring all players are listed correctly and wearing the appropriate numbered jersey
- Confirming the opposing team’s match sheet submission
- Nominating a parent to act as AR (assistant referee, formerly known as a linesperson) if one has not been allocated
- Nominating a parent to act as referee if one has not been provided
Beyond the above, managers can help build team spirit by encouraging photo sharing in team chats and organising the occasional get-together.
